COMMON DREAMS SCHOOL

Third edition Common dreams School: MOVING APART TOGETHER

Video documentation

What kind of schools do we need as a gesture of care for the planetary? How can we form artistic and scientific alliances in creating learning spaces? How autonomous self-organized learning spaces, and pedagogies can help students shift our unsustainable present?
From February to August 2020, Common Dreams Flotation School collaborated with far° Nyon and students of Head-Genève, to imagine an autonomous school for collective, experimental pedagogy focus on climate emergency, earth wisdom, survival and artistic gestures to activate geo-political and cosmo-radical education.
The school was set in a forest, during a dystopian phase of our lives, covid 19 pandemic, so we had to adapt and re imagine twice the pedagogical program and architecture of the school.
During five days of activation, the school became a communal place for students, artists, biologists, witches, divers, activists, philosophers, economists, police, city council, journalists, art critics (…) A transdisciplinary exchange in the format of workshops, lectures, numerous discussions and embodied experiences as singing, eating, snorkeling, listening, contemplating, playing a climate card game, reading tarot, activating, rebelling and restoring. But also a moment to reconnect, restore hare emotions, resilience and active responses with the natural habitats.
